FIREWALL AND EVANGELISM TRAINING, MAPUTO, MOZAMBIQUE 30 OCTOBER 2026
Earlier in 2026 at the All-Africa Leadership Summit, Dr Raymond Lombard and Pastor Adri Theron met with a few of the Church leaders in Africa. A few Firewall training sessions were born from those meetings. This training conference in Maputo was one of them. Pastor Felix Banda, Moderator of the Full Gospel Church of God in Mozambique took it upon him to plan the Firewall Conference. He also incorporated Bishop Armindo Magule, Moderator of the Church of God in Mozambique and also the Superintendent of Portuguese speaking (Lusophone) countries in Africa (COGWM).
Seventy-eight pastors and evangelists attended the training conference. They represented 25 congregations. Bishop Armindo also acted as the primary interpreter. Heart of Man Charts, pocket charts and booklets were provided to all participants. Twenty teams were formed to evangelise the streets of the Alto Mae neighbourhood of Maputo. During this practical outreach the Gospel of Jesus Christ was presented 141 times to 218 people, and 128 prayed the sinner’s prayer. They were also invited to the local Church service on Sunday.
For many of the attendees, this was the first time they evangelised in this way. Many of them testified about their desire to do it, but they did not have the knowledge and courage to do it. Now they are fired up to continue to evangelise and to grow the various congregations they represent. To God be the glory for what He has done in the lives of these men and women, as well as those who heard the Gospel Today.
Saturday was a second day of training. Lectures on “Redefining the believer” were presented. The pastors took part in some lively discussions regarding certain topics. New knowledge was taught, and old knowledge was rekindled. This session aimed to encourage these men and women of God to trust in Christ and confirm their identity in Him.
The weekend was concluded when Pastor Adri preached the Sunday service in Pastor Felix’s congregation. This sermon also confirmed that sharing the Bread of Life, Jesus Christ, is every believer's commission.
