FIREWALL EVANGELISM IN UPINGTON, SOUTH AFRICA 10 OCTOBER 2020
The Firewall training is presented predominantly in English, and most of the time the service of an interpreter is imperative, because the pastors under training do not understand English. The training in Upington was unique in the sense that it was presented in Afrikaans, our mother tongue.
Four brothers from Cape Town, Pastor Raymond Lombard, Neal Meaker, Marko Kiroglu and Adri Theron, left Cape Town in the early hours of October 9, 2020. We travelled by road to Upington, a town about 900 km from Cape Town in the Northern Cape Province.
The event was arranged by brother Bennie Engelbrecht and the training took place in the Church of pastor Maria Mpeko, in the Paballelo neighbourhood. Pastor Tommie Saunders, the overseer of the Namakwari Region, arranged for 39 pastors from seven Churches of the Full Gospel Church in Southern Africa to attend. Additional members, working with brother Bennie Engelbrecht in ministry, also attended.
Pastor Raymond presented the Heart of Man evangelism training and after role play, the group went into the streets to do practical evangelism. Many people were reached in this way, and the “students” had first hand experience with the variety of responses to evangelism. Twenty people gave their hearts to Christ during this outreach. Praise God! It is the inspired desire of Pastor Tommie that the work will continue and he is personally going to present the training to many more of his pastors and evangelists.
On the Sunday Pastor Raymond preached in the Full Gospel Church in Upington with the praise and worship being led by Pastor Terrick Vorster, the current pastor of the congregation. More than 200 people attended the two services.
After a fruitful weekend, and with much gratitude towards the Lord for many special people who showered us with hospitality, that we returned to Cape Town on Monday October, 12.
To God be the glory!
